The National Genealogical Society 2018 Family History Conference will be held May 2-5, 2018, in Grand Rapids, MI. For additional information go to: http://conference.ngsgenealogy.org
On May 5th, 2018, from 3 to 6: pm the Lewisville Historical Society and Lowes Foods will host a “Shallow Ford wine Fest” on the Square in Lewisville. 6 wineries will offer tastings, a jazz quartet from NCSA will entertain, and Lowes will provide a finger foods buffet. Tickets are $35.00 and proceeds will be used to support the George Nissen House refurbishment. Tours of the house also available, and there will be a Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle as well.
On May 5th, 2018, the Historic Bethabara Park is holding their annual Celtic Festival from 10 am to 4 pm. The FCGS will have a booth there, where visitors can see our published research materials, and talk to a FCGS member about their genealogical problems and adventures.
Saturday, May 19th, 2018, at 2 pm, the Silver Hill Cemetery is unveiling a historic marker onsite at Wiley Ave & Holiday St, in Winston Salem. This is one of the “Forgotten Communities” that Chris Jordan told us about at our Feb 6th meeting.
